Broadcast Media Training: ‘train the trainer’ programme. 

What will it be about:  This follow up session will include the following topics:  • Press release writing (Getting the best from your press releases), • Media  Crisis Management,  • Understanding the Broadcast Media /Journalism,  • Being confident and composed, • Preparing for adverse media stories, • Practical  work on ‘hard-hitting’ interviews, highlighting potential pitfalls (Political/Legal/Community).

When is it?: MONDAY, December 19th  2011.  6pm until 9.30pm.

More Details: This training programme is open to ACSONI members who have completed the 2 day training course for Development Educators.  There are 6 available spaces and this will be open to members / non- members on a ‘first come first served’ basis.

The idea is to engage all forms of learning so that members can achieve their full potential – classroom based, workshops, artistic expression, social networking, team building sessions, conferences, cross-community activities are just some of the possibilities.

Information Technology Training

ACSONI’s Media Training programme for Development Educators. The training is part of ACSONI’s capacity building ‘train the trainer’ programme funded by the European Commission. This programme will enhance the confidence of participants to handle media interviews positively, structure effective key messages and develop powerful communication skills. The participants will be expected to use the knowledge acquired from this programme to deliver training to community groups and agencies in a bid to reframe images and change messages and perceptions.

What will it be about?

This first session will include the following topics;

  • Understanding the Broadcast Media
  • Understanding the journalist’s approach
  • Knowing when not to say anything
  • Knowing your rights – you have some!
  • Being confident and composed

When is it?

Thursday, 13th October 2011. 6pm until 9.30pm.

Media Training

Multimedia ICT training programme.

bluetoothThe programme covers Adobe Design Suite (Photoshop CS3/4/5 and Flash CS3/4/5 Elements).

This programme will be starting on Saturday 24th September 2011 9:30Am -4:30 pm, with a full day training session in Adobe Photoshop CS3/4/5 followed by Adobe Flash CS3/4/5 on Saturday 8th October 2011.

At the end of the programme you will be able to create a full colour advert/poster for print and a media file that can be used in Mobile Bluetooth and Web applications.

This training forms part of ACSONI’s ‘Images and messages’ project funded by the European Commission. This programme will enhance the confidence of participants to create and use positive images and structure effective key messages as they relate to Africa.

The participants will be expected to use the knowledge acquired from this programme to creatively design products useful for positive communications in a bid to reframe images and change messages and perceptions.

What will it be about?

This first session will include the following topics;

Photoshop CS3/4/5 · Introduction to Adobe Photoshop CS3/4/5 · Understanding Text, Layering and Images · Image Resolution, Resizing & File Formats · Using Photoshop effects and tools · Importing images/Files into PS Work Area Flash CS3/4/5 · Introduction to Adobe Flash CS3/4/5 · Understanding Basis Flash elements · Timeline , key frames, scale · Vector and Text and image manipulation · Basic Animation · Using Flash Tools, effects and colours · Importing and embedding audio files · Importing Photoshop or illustrator files · Basic animation for web and mobile application.

This training programme is opened to ACSONI members specifically the youths. There is limited availability so please fill the attached application form and return to ACSONI office as soon as you can.
