AFRO-COMMUNITY WOMEN's NETWORK
The ACSONI’s Women’s network was designed to provide a forum for the women in our community to come together to discuss issues of common interest. It will create the arena for exchange of ideas as well as provide a communication link with other groups and stakeholders.
It is hoped that such interaction will help to improve the social and economic status of women, provide empowerment through training and development and give them the confidence necessary to be formidable contributors within Northern Irish society.
The Women’s network will be a supportive and motivational source for the women in our community to become assertive and to build their confidence so that they are able to achieve full potential both professionally and socially
Some of the activities in the pipeline are:
-
Workshops focussing on the Rights of Women, Child Protection, Entrepreneurship skills and Diversity
-
Identifying and developing training opportunities that provide, leadership skills, life skills and social skills
-
The continuous updating of women on legal/civic changes affecting them and their children
