Healing across borders: Medical Care For Sudanese Refugees

I hope you don’t mind me sharing something that is quite close to home and a cause I would really love to see supported.
This GoFundMe is raising funds to support Sudanese refugees in Cairo, many of whom are living in extremely difficult circumstances and struggling to access even basic medical care.
What makes this particularly personal for me is that one of the doctors taking part in this mission is from Northern Ireland, someone who has been actively involved in supporting the Sudanese community and other communities in need, both locally and further afield. I have seen her commitment to this work and the time, care and professional expertise she has given on previous occasions.
She will be travelling to Cairo for this five-day medical mission alongside her daughter, joining around 100 healthcare volunteers from 21–25 November 2026. Together, they will be providing free medical consultations, investigations, medication and specialist care across three healthcare facilities.
I feel this is a wonderful example of people using their skills, time and compassion to make a meaningful difference to the lives of others. The funds raised will go towards essential medicines, diagnostic tests, medical equipment, supplies and transport.
